Growing up she would spend time in Scotland with her grandmother who told her that she has the second sight and that it skips generations and that they are descended from the druids. Her grandmother does rituals to find out many things, among them are who you will marry and when you’ll die, she told Bonnie that she would be young and beautiful in her coffin. Bonnie strongly believes that she does have the second sight and even has learned palm-reading from her cousin, and likes to romanticize her future death in conversation. However, no one really takes her seriously, but at the beginning of her senior year she finally starts to come into her powers. The only problem is that even though she may go into a trance and predict things or act as a medium she has no recollection of it afterwards. Her best friends Elena and Meredith are privy to most of these trances and attempt to tell her that something is going on. She doesn’t believe them, but as time goes on and the visions continue she begins to accept her role in life. Accepting her powers helps her grow up from a fickle, shallow, boy-obsessed, insecure girl into a mature woman who knows that she’s smarter than she thought and she is needed and loved by her friends. Her powers greatly help Elena and her friends in the fight against the evil in Fell’s Church. To help with the fight she also begins to dabble in witchcraft that helps out quite a bit in the aftermath of her friend Elena’s death and eventual rebirth.
